February 25th, 2011 | Fashion and EditiorialNatalie-Jean and Henry ~ Rosecliff Mansion, Newport RI~ 10/8/10
February 25th, 2011 | WeddingsNatalie-Jean and Henry were married on a lovely fall day in Newport. An intimate ceremony at the Kay Chapel and then we were off to take some gorgeous images around town before arriving at Rosecliff. From the lush bouquets to her amazing gown, to the vibrant lighting, this wedding was quite magical. Natalie – Jean says that when she and Henry first saw Rosecliff they marveled at how the ballroom was “the perfect setting for romance and elegance”. Those words really put the details and vibe of the wedding perfectly. Every detail was planned to be just beautifully elegant with a true sense of romance and opulence. The love of family surrounded the day, as Natalie-Jean’s mother served as her maid of honor, and the couple honored their respective heritages (she Italian and he Peruvian) through the cuisine served by Blackstone. Also, a table was set with photographs in memory of family members. A day that was worth waiting for after a 10 year friendship as coworkers! Congratulations again Natalie-Jean and Henry!

Kim and Peter ~ 9/18/10 ~ Private Residence – Warren, Connecticut
February 22nd, 2011 | WeddingsKimberly and Peter are just two of the sweetest people we have had the pleasure of working with. Jared and I shot Kimberley’s friend’s wedding back in 2006, and when Kimberly and Peter got engaged in 2007, we were happy to hear she wanted to book us as well! After a few date changes for their event, we were so happy to meet them 3 years later, and what a fabulous day they had for their wedding! Extra planning time gave Kimberly some amazing ideas to incorporate into the wedding, everything was super personalized to the T! Having the wedding at a family home in beautiful Connecticut was just the perfect place, full of green gardens, and OH the gorgeous, warm, early fall light! Kim’s sister designed and hand made the fun purple and orange bridesmaids dresses (WOW!!!), ceremony programs complete with thank you’s to their families, custom champagne and wine labels and cocktail napkins with nods to their families, chinese take out boxes were used for the candy bar to pay tribute to Kim’s Cantonese heritage, DIY antique barnboard signage, clothespins used to hold escort cards, great lawn games, a magician and babysitter for the children to allow adults to enjoy the night, everything had personal meaning and love put into it! I loved the wide open fields we used for formals, especially with this vintage truck, how cool! Also loved the sleek combination of purple and orange, it played so well for mid-September and certainly gave the right amount of contrast against the lush green gardens. What a great day and such a warm and happy couple!

Laura and Pat ~ Part II
February 19th, 2011 | WeddingsTons more details here for you guys today to soak in! Customized drink stirrers, ribbon belted menu cards, a human statue, mix and match linens, a lounge to die for, a rice krispie treat wedding cake, crystal chandeliers, fun food, a cigar roller, a Spike’s hot dog truck, and lots of laughter! And fun ideas not pictured here: a cotton candy machine, a popcorn bar, a flambe station, just to name a few. The details were literally everywhere, and we could not have been more thrilled to run around the tent shooting all of the unique centerpieces with branches, lush flowers, giant diamonds, and dripping in crystals. Semia designed every single table to be unique, yet consistent with the entire look, and wow, it was literally breathtaking. The pink and purple uplighting in the tent and leading the way down from cocktail hour was beautiful, not to mention the black and white checkered dance floor that just was the perfect detail to bring the entire look together! We loved the idea of using a bookcase to hold different dessert treats, as well as a jeweled plant stand to hold flip flops! Thinking creatively!!! Oh and disclaimer: Pictured below are some of your favorite local vendors having a very “good time” (wink wink
)! All Laura’s handpicked vendors were all guests as well at her wedding, being so close to her and working along side her for so many years…so no judgement! Enjoy the glamour!
Laura and Pat ~ 9/11/10 ~ Roger Williams Park Botanical Center: Part I
February 17th, 2011 | WeddingsErin here back to bring you more details from the amazing event Laura and Pat put together for their wedding day. This wedding really takes the cake when it comes to being truly glamorous, exquisitely planned, with no detail left untouched. It was so perfect from the attire, to the flowers and decor, to the choir singing her down the aisle, to the colors, the crystals, the black and white dance floor…i could go on and on but you will just have to stay tuned here and revel in all the details with us. And if this isn’t enough for you, be sure to pick up the latest copy of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style New England, where Laura and Pat’s wedding was featured in print! Laura’s dress, with feathers, crystals, flowers, oh it was a work of art along with her hand crafted accessories! Laura and Pat did a “first look” so that we could play around in Providence a bit before we headed to the ceremony and reception at the Botanical Gardens, as they wanted to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests and families. Love that bouquet? It’s a “glamelia” Semia tells us -one giant flower made from hundreds of individual petals. Like I said…amazing.

Laura and Pat ~ Rehearsal Dinner at Mt. Hope Farm’s Cove Cabin 9/10/10
February 16th, 2011 | WeddingsHi Readers! Erin here, blogging for Kristin today…Since she and Laura are BFF’s, she was a little too close to this wedding to share it in her own words so she asked me to narrate instead
I also had the honor of shooting with Kristin and Jared at Laura and Pat’s wedding, so I’ll be narrating that one for you too, so stay tuned!
I’m sure if you’ve peeked around the blog a bit, you know Miss Laura. Not only did she and Pat have a fun and colorful engagement session in Providence (they are the first picture on the website) and create a one-of-a-kind viewfinder Save the Date with those images, but Laura also is the Sales Manager for Russell Morin Fine Catering. Oh yea, and she’s fantastic at her job, too! Laura knows what it takes to pull of an amazing event, and boy did she EVER! We cannot wait to share the images with you.
Laura and Pat did a nod to New England style rehearsal dinner at the Cove Cabin at Mt. Hope Farm, with fun yellow flowers, seersucker linens, and rattan chargers, all highlighting the rustic appeal of the location, right smack on the water-a total treat for their out of state guests. I loved the little chalk board accents too! Keeping it casual, because as you will see, the wedding day was the ultimate in glamour! Kristin snapped some shots before she headed in to enjoy the night with Laura and Pat so take a peek!
Erica and Oliver ~ 8.28.10 ~ Private Residence: Nonquitt, MA
February 16th, 2011 | WeddingsErica and Oliver’s wedding was the epitome of summer to me. The bright, yet natural, colors of grass green and pops of coral and salmon, jumping about in a field overlooking the water, salt air blowing ribbons around playfully, and being surrounded by friends and family. The private estate (Oliver’s grandfather’s home) was the absolute perfect place to hold a wedding! Sprawling grassy lawn, view of Buzzards Bay, rustic backdrops with such a sense of history and the love of family. The details were everywhere, too! Hand painted wooden signs directing guests to the wedding, cocktail hour, and reception, amazing flowers everywhere, escort card holder made out of the perfect rustic old house shutters, cocktail napkins describing fun facts about the couple, that gorgeous Sperry Tent, and even (as one guest informed us) a “Sturgeon Moon” (a big full red moon in the cloudless night sky). We happily drove about the grounds in the little golf cart with Erica and Oliver, every inch a postcard-perfect backdrop! Such a lovely day, in every way!

Quinn Tripp Foundation
February 12th, 2011 | News, Personal“the Spencer’s” have been working on formally establishing a foundation in their twin sons names for the past 2 years… and it’s finally OFFICIAL! This non-profit organization, Quinn Tripp Foundation, was organized to provide meals to families with children in the hospital. Jared & Kristin struggled through having premature twins who spent 10 weeks in the NICU [March 11, 2009] as well as further hospital surgeries and stays.
The Quinn Tripp Foundation will be collaborating with a team of professional culinary experts to provide meals to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. The Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.
100% of public donations go directly to helping families. In addition, starting with our 2011 season, a percentage of Kristin Spencer Photography profits will be donated to the foundation as well.
Thank you for selecting our studio & in turn for your support in helping families!
