Krista & Daniel :: Westin Hotel Providence, RI

June 22nd, 2012 | Weddings

Krista and Daniel swept the day with a downtown Providence wedding! The ceremony took place at St. Augustine Church and the reception at the Westin Hotel. Krista and Daniel used every bit of Providence from the Botanical Gardens, the water fire and even just the beautiful artistic streets of Providence! The reception twinkle and sparkled as guests entered the transformed room!

As a pre-wedding gift, Krista gave dan an Omega watch!

Bridesmaids carried the theme color of pink with their dresses and groomsmen with their pink boutonnieres!

Pictures were taken all over Downtown Providence’s beautiful streets and the gorgeous Botanical Gardens!

Strutting down the streets of Providence really captured the beauty of the wedding as well as Downtown!

Purples and Pinks captured and dazzled the room with twinkling lights and draping around the room! The room went from a day time look to a night time look just with the colored lighting and drappery!

Bride, Groom, Family and Friends danced away the night with the Studio C band! Many guests traveled from New York and New Jersey for the special occasion and Krista and Dan made it a priority to show them a good time!

Q. What made your event UNIQUE

Kara. My Wedding Vendors: Each brought their specific talent to the whole design element of the wedding.
I tried to incorporate as well both of our specific heritages. Sergio is 100% italian, parents from Italy. My mom is Italian but my dad is Lebanese. I tried to incorporate some italian customs and lebanese customs. From the music to the food. The Overall Decor of the Wedding: Flowers, Lighting, Lots of little details everywhere.

Q. The Bride Wore

Kara. Dress-Monique Lhuillier
Veil- Elie Saab
Shoes- Jimmy Choo

Q. Finish this sentence: “One thing I learned from my wedding planning…”

Kara. Start Early. Do not save everything for the last minute. I tried to do a little at a time. I would HIGHLY recommend having a wedding coordinator if possible! Donna Kim and her Perfect Details team truly helped me more than they can imagine! It is imperative to stay ORGANIZED!!!! AND REMEMBER MOST IMPORTANTLY……HAVE FUN!!!!! :)

Q. What was your inspiration behind your wedding?

Kara. Flipping through magazines such as Grace Ormonde, Bliss Celebrations, The Knot, etc…. I would just see so many gorgeous weddings and be like WOW, I want mine to have that “wow” factor. I love sparkle and “bling”, so I would say that definitely influenced a lot of my decisions.

Q. What was your favorite moment or aspect of the day?

Kara. Walking down the aisle and seeing Sergio for the first time. I will never forget that look on his face for as long as I live. I know that he feels the same about me as well! We would also have to say, walking into the room for the first time that night and being introduced as husband and wife! We both were at a loss of words! It was the most incredible feeling to be surrounded by all the people you love in the world and realizing that they are all here to celebrate you! We were also at a loss of words for just how gorgeous the room looked! It truly took our breath away!!!

Krista & Dan :: The Westin Providence, RI

January 31st, 2012 | Weddings

Krista & Dan {06.11.11} had .. okay it was really beyond words I can’t describe the day and do them justice .. it’s definetly one of those events you have to SEE.. so without further delay!!

OH there HE is!! {the man / father of the year in my book!} Okay I MUST give Krista’s father credit.. as he walked Krista down the aisle.. he was just months {3} away from walking Kara{we’ll be blogging Kara soon of course too!}, her sister, down the aisle ..I really wanted to hug their father after it was all over as he was just so sweet to watch with both girls and over the moon with their events.. I love watching the dads!

Q. Finish this sentence: “One thing I learned from my wedding planning…”

Krista. start early! This day only comes once so if you have something envisioned, take the time to do it right. It will pay off in the end.

That being said.. again I feel we need to send their parents a trophy for all they accomplished on 2 events!!

Q. The Bride Wore.

Krista. Marchesa

The gown was truly stunning.. it couldn’t have been more perfect on Krista and just the layering, texture, movement.. it’s all the things we drool over on the runways and hope to see on real brides.. it was a work of art and I personally really was in love shooting it!

Q. What made your event UNIQUE

Krista. The lebanese dancing was certainly a unique touch to our wedding. The music is very loud with lots of rhythms. People that were unfamiliar with the music and dancing could not help but try it! When the music came on, EVERYONE was on the dance floor. It was a huge hit! I think people enjoyed it more than traditional wedding music.

Sweet Note from Krista & Dan : “Thank you Kristin and Jared for being the BEST at what you do! I knew that I didn’t need to worry about capturing all of the details and moments on my wedding day because you guys had it covered. You were both an absolute pleasure to work with and very fun to be around! Dan and I cannot thank you enough!”

Lauren & Steven :: The University Club Providence, RI

January 25th, 2012 | Weddings

With INCHES of snow on the ground currently the idea of warm autumn colors is exactly what I need to blog! Autumn Elegance is the BEST way to describe Lauren & Steven’s November wedding..the couple dreamed of a sophisticated autumn inspired event with ” a warm muted color palette & romantic decor”.. and they pulled this style together beautifully!

Personally, I always ask brides lots of questions, typically more then they have for me I think lol.. but I love knowing what is inspiring them, the stories behind engagements.. the details that help describe their personalities, relationships.. and give me a good idea of who they are as a couple but also the entire event so when photographing it we really feel connected to what we are shooting.. I love what I do, who we work with and the moments we are able to help retell..

Q. What was your favorite moment or aspect of the day?

Lauren. When I stepped out of the Rolls Royce, I spotted my bridesmaids waving and smiling at me through the windows of the church doors. As I made my way up the steps of the church to meet them, my shoe fell off! It was a true Cinderella moment and very fitting as I was about to marry my prince charming! Good thing the videographer was right behind me to help me into my shoe!
Steve’s favorite moment was seeing me walk down the aisle! When I joined him at the altar, he whispered: “Your dress is beautiful! You looked like you were floating!”

[Funny note.. as I walked into Lauren's room to visit her Vera Wang "Georgina" gown and details .. I was stunned.. I actually stood there just staring..we always joke that when it comes to weddings I'm the photographer, "UB" ultimate bridesmaid, maid, bridal aid, stylist.. sometimes stand in florist lol .. i have many roles and typically I walk into pre-bridal and begin my role as "maid" as I tidy up and make the scene match the day to get some beauty shots of a brides gown & little details.. this was a FIRST! Lauren's room..I was and still am kinda speechless remembering it as I felt like I walked into a picture already captured as EVERYTHING was perfectly placed for me.. I almost felt lost as I explored everything not having done it myself ha ha it was AMAZING!!! ]

Q. Finish this sentence: “One thing I learned from my wedding planning…”

Lauren. One thing I learned from my wedding planning is that my mom and I make a great team! We decided to do the planning ourselves– and we loved every minute of it! We had so much fun brainstorming wedding ideas and enjoyed the time we spent together running errands. My mom is the most organized, detail-oriented person I know. Plus, she gives the best advice! I was so happy to have her by my side.

Lastly, a super sweet note from Lauren.. I love finding these!! “Kristin and Jared–Steve and I both feel so fortunate to have had Kristin Spencer Photography at our wedding. Even before I was engaged I would constantly look at your blog and admire the stunning photos. It was so surreal to have you at our wedding! You are true professionals. From helping with my dress to pinning on boutonnieres, you truly went above and beyond. Our wedding was the best day of our lives and we wouldn’t have wanted any one else but you to capture the details. We’re beyond excited to see the photos! :) ” … Lauren.. you’re officially ON THE BLOG!!

Kirsten and Hans ~ 5/7/11 – Botanical Center at Roger Williams Park- Part II

June 17th, 2011 | Weddings

After their happy and heartfelt ceremony, we took a quick walk with Kirsten and Hans around the grounds at the Botanical Center and snapped a few more fun portraits as well as family formals.  Then after cocktail hour, the guests entered the AMAZING tent that was transformed with farm tables for tuscan style dining, rustic lanterns paired with burlap table runners and a FAB lounge perfect for those resting their feet from so much dancing!  Despite the lightning, I still ran outside and captured a few night shots with the tent and Botanical Center all aglow, with candlelit path leading the way up to that amazing tree!  What a fun night with a sweet family and great vendors!

Kirsten and Hans ~ 5/7/11- Botanical Center at Roger Williams Park- Part I

June 16th, 2011 | Weddings

Kirsten and Hans have such an amazing, eclectic, and vibrant style!  Their wedding was full of the most personal touches and details and every piece told a story.  From African decor (Kirsten spent time in Africa and her host parents even traveled all the way to the US for the wedding, and the couple traveled there on their honeymoon), to signature cocktails that represented their favorite drinks (including the “Kir Royale” for Kirsten!), to their favorite dessert Strawberry Shortcake being served instead of wedding cake, this couple truly made their wedding their OWN, and a true representation of them!!  They wrote their own vows, had Kirsten’s uncle perform the ceremony, and allowed parents to sit on the opposite sides to better view them during their vows.  Kirsten and Hans did a “first look” at Kirsten’s family’s home on the gorgeous Barrington waterfront, even with some shots down on the beach where they got engaged!  Prepared for rain or shine Kirsten brought along a pair of red wellies just incase (There was lighting and thunder, but we stayed completely dry!).  Enjoy the eye candy and stay tuned for Part II!
